Common Questions

Visits and Care

Therapists provide one-on-one talk therapy, while psychiatry providers prescribe and manage any medications you may need for behavioral health conditions.

  • You are experiencing stress in your life, work or relationships and need someone to talk to.
  • You are feeling sad, anxious or depressed and need someone to talk to, don't know where to go for help, or aren't sure if a therapist can help.
  • You feel you may need psychiatric medications and/or feel you may have a mental health condition.
  • You are experiencing symptoms your primary care physician cannot address or isn't able to help improve.
  • You have questions or concerns about your mental health and want a first or even second opinion.

Typically the same as an office visit (but without the need to travel!), you can expect to be asked about your current symptoms, your history, any factors in your life that may be affecting your mental health, and what you'd like to accomplish in treatment. You and your provider will work together to develop a treatment plan that's updated as your needs change and you progress in treatment.

The average visit with a therapy provider is 45-60 minutes; psychiatry visits will depend on the specific medications that you may be considering or prescribed.

Financial

Right now, many health insurance companies are waiving copays and some are considering the visit towards your deductible. It's likely that during the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency, you can receive services at no out-of-pocket cost to you.

Give us a call at 910-742-9243! One of our staff members would be happy to help you find a provider who accepts your insurance, or explain what options we offer for patients who do not have health insurance.
